Asian Leaders Alliance stands as one
against racism and xenophobia

During this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our Asian community globally has been targeted by racism and xenophobia. We stand with our global community against all racism and xenophobia. Asian Leaders Alliance is working with our ERG members to make a stand together.

As IndividualsAs Organizations

Join us to tackle anti-Asian sentiment
by raising awareness across your network

The advent of COVID-19 has resurfaced major gaps within our community in regards to racial inequalities and injustices. Particularly for the Asian Pacific Islander (API) community, there has been a dramatic increase in cases of discrimination globally, from racial slurs to violent attacks. We acknowledge that anti-Asian racism is not new. However, such xenophobic bigotry poses a real threat to the well-being of our community, and more than ever, we must unite, speak up, and advocate for increased awareness and support for the API community.

With over 60 Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), 15 Non-Profit Organizations (NGOs), 10 small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMBs), and 360 individual members in the Bay Area-wide and growing, ALA along with your support can help move the needle on this cause together.

Call to Action(s):

  1. JOIN ALA: We are actively voicing on this issue and others important to the API community through our BAYCAT video, toolkit, workshops, and more.  Become a supporter and/or volunteer at our community and professional events. Sign up HERE.

  2. RAISE AWARENESS: Knowledge is power. When we are able to bring to the forefront the uptick in anti-Asian racism through storytelling, we are better able to help combat it. You can do so today by participating in our BAYCAT video campaign:

    • Sharing our video (produced in partnership with BAYCAT) across social media. We have a presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube.
    • Share your story on social media too, #SpeakUpWithALA, and tag 5 friends!
  3. REPORT CASES OF DISCRIMINATION: Please visit the “Stop AAPI Hate” portal to report your experiences of discrimination
  4. STAND UP FOR VICTIMS OF DISCRIMINATION: Please visit the Hollaback Bystander Intervention to learn how to stand up for others in the face of discrimination.
  5. SUPPORT API OWNED BUSINESS: We acknowledge that the local economy (e.g. restaurants, groceries, hardware stores, etc.) is hit hard during the pandemic, but this is especially so for API-owned businesses, due to the uptick of anti-Asian sentiment.
  6. GET INVOLVED WITH ERGS: Join or start an Asian American Employee Resource Group at your company. For help and support, contact us HERE.
  7. SHARE YOUR IDEAS: Are there other ways you could contribute to our campaign? Let us know!
It is crucial that we act in this time of crisis to address the exponential rise of anti-Asian racism together.

If not today, then when?
